Lockdown Student Stories: Chris | CIPD Level 7

Learn more about how Chris used lockdown to study an online CIPD Level 7 Qualification qualification to advance his career.

I am currently studying CIPD Level 7 Certificate in Human Resource Management. 

I am a General Manager for PureGym, the largest operator of gyms in the United Kingdom. I was put on furlough on the 21st March when all gyms in the UK were told to close following a government announcement. 

I enrolled in this course because being a Senior Manager, I have already had significant experience in many HR workstreams.

By gaining this qualification, it would expand my knowledge and employment opportunities in my organisation.

The modules I selected were Resourcing and Talent Management, Managing Employment Relations, Employment Law and Learning and Talent Development.

This mixture allows me to gain knowledge across a variety of HR roles and widen my options when applying for my next role. 

My experience with ICS Learn has been really positive and has kept me occupied during ‘lockdown’.

My next step after completing the CIPD Level 7 Certificate will be to expand my knowledge by either completing the diploma or enrolling in a master's degree in Human Resource Management.
