Become a strategic, inspiring, and forward-thinking senior leader with a qualification from the UK's most respected leadership organisation.
You'll cultivate your ability to motivate and innovate, learning to provide confident big-picture leadership as well as day-to-day management. You'll benchmark your managerial skills, raise your profile in your organisation, and drive real organisational change.
This course is designed for mid-level managers who want to prepare for senior management roles.
You don't need any formal qualifications to enrol, but you should be 18+ with at least two years' full-time (or three years' part-time) work experience.
Your course is fully online and covers 3 in-depth units.
You'll learn to critically assess your own beliefs, attitudes and value systems, and evaluate the validity and usefulness of management theories in relation to these.
You'll learn to identify the need for change and master the art of proposing, managing and leading innovation using practical tools and leadership models.
You'll first fully understand the benefits and impact of effective leadership.
You'll then become aware of the effect your specific leadership style has on you, your teams and your organisation, and assess your leadership behaviour in terms of the factors which determine effective leadership.
Finally, you'll learn to develop your leadership style and effectiveness and become a truly inspirational leader.
‘I had previously studied with ICS Learn in the 1990s and was delighted to find they offered ILM. The tutors are really well-versed in their subject and everyone you speak to is right behind you, interested in your success and cheering you on.’

‘I learnt a lot whilst studying, much of which I could relate to my own workplace, which really brought the coursework to life and helped me to absorb the information. And I enjoyed interacting with my tutor regularly, who was very insightful and patient.’
- Emily Horswell
‘My company takes ILM very seriously, and I have been recognised at work for progression. I get detailed feedback with every assignment within a short period of time, and find myself relating situations at work to the course - it’s helping me even before completion.’
