Why is this course right for you?

Challenging economic times and growing corporate social responsibility are making the role of buyer pivotal in every business.

This industry-standard qualification demonstrates to employers that you hold yourself to the highest professional standards, that you have the most up-to-date skills, and that you can apply your expertise across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

You'll develop advanced negotiation skills, be able to confidently measure and analyse the impact of supply chains, and deeply understand the complexities of commercial arrangements and buyer/supplier relationships, bringing internationally recognised best practice to everything you do.

Entry requirements

The course is for anyone who wants to understand negotiation, planning, risk management and data analysis, among other things.

However, you'll benefit most if you have some experience in procurement and are looking to take on a junior or middle management role.

You should be either:

  • At least 18 with a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent, such as a relevant Level 3 Certificate
  • At least 21 with a minimum of two years' work experience in business

The course provides a natural progression from the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate, but it's not essential to have completed this first.

Course content

Your course is fully online and is assessed through 5 in-person exams.

  • Sourcing in Procurement and Supply
  • Negotiating and Contracting in Procurement and Supply
