While you don't need any formal qualifications to enrol on the ILM Level 3 Award course, you'll benefit from it the most if you're a practicing or potential first line manager with at least two years full-time (or three years part-time) work experience.

You also need to be over 18.

If you have any disabilities which you believe may impact your studies or assessments, please inform your Course Advisor before enrolment so that we can advise you on whether reasonable adjustments can be made to accommodate your needs.

If you're currently working in a first line management position or seeking promotion to this level, this qualification will help you get to where you want to be. It'll enhance your prospects for employment and advancement by demonstrating that you're a calm, confident and skilled manager, well-equipped to lead a successful team.

Once you've completed the bite-sized ILM Level 3 Award, you could progress to the full ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management. This will give you more comprehensive mid-level management skills. The credits you've gained on the Award count towards the required credits for the Certificate, so you'll already be part of the way there.
