ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management

Read more to find out what advice previous student Yessheka would give to anyone looking to study an ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management.

With a busy lifestyle full of work, planning my own business and undertaking two other courses, I have just completed the Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management with ICS Learn.

Before I started my studies, I wrote up a schedule of when I was going to prioritise my learning, and how I was going to work this time around my job and other life commitments, because of this I was able to complete the course in just over 6 months, which I was really happy about.

I chose this course because I wanted to increase my knowledge on both leadership and management and I found the course did exactly that.

Exploring the ins and outs of leadership, how it contributes to an individuals’ ability to influence and motivate as well as learning how to enable your teams correctly so that they can build organisational success was extremely beneficial, and what I enjoyed most about the course.

I now feel I have the skills and confidence to move forward with my own business plans.

In addition, my tutor was also very supportive, and took time to provide me with detailed feedback for all of my assignments. They were both friendly and approachable, which made asking any questions, whether they felt silly or small, really easy.

I really enjoyed my studies overall, and would not hesitate to recommend ICS Learn to anyone who is interested in further study.

If I had one piece of advice to share as someone who has now finished their studies, it would be to create an effective schedule before you start, one that provides you with a good balance between work and life - this will help you stay on track, and also make time for things that you enjoy.

I would also recommend making time for not only completing tasks, but for plenty of reading as I found this to be really helpful when writing and referencing my assignments.

If you're feeling inspired by Yessheka's story, enrol on an ILM course and gain the skills you need to be an effective leader or manager today.
