CIPD Student Stories: Victoria Green | CIPD Level 5 Review

Victoria Green chose to study our CIPD Level 5 course online as she wanted to progress in the HR field and needed the flexibility to shape her course around her kids and career.

I began studying for my CIPD Level 5 course with ICS Learn in January 2019. I work as an office manager for a roofing business, and my HR knowledge was limited.

However, I wanted to progress my career within the company, and so I decided it was time to pursue a professional qualification.

I chose to study with ICS Learn because the feedback from those who had already completed the course was extremely positive.

ICS Learn’s approach to online learning is flexible – which is especially important to me – as it allows me to fit learning around my job and the care of my three children.

At first, I had a few reservations; would I get enough support from tutors while learning online? Would the course material be easy to access, and would I be able to understand it using the platform provided?

To get some answers, I spoke to customer service who were able to not only answer my questions but provide the comfort and insight I needed to take the leap.

Once I received my log in, I followed the steps to learn how to navigate the ICS Learn platform. It is very easy, even for someone like me, who hasn’t completed a CIPD Level 5 course before or studied in over 20 years!

The online classes are set at times realistic for working people and are easy to access and follow. Any questions I have are answered almost immediately by phone or email as well.

I’m nearly halfway through the course so far, and I’ve made friends through the student community and have excellent support from the tutors. I’ve been provided with my own personal log on and have access to several useful study guides.

Submitting assignments is also straightforward and feedback is always detailed and useful.

In the future, my plans are to continue studying with ICS Learn and gain the Level 7 qualification in Human Resources.
