AAT Student Stories: Lauren Salt | AAT Level 2 & 3 Review

After putting her career on pause as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lauren re-evaluated what she wanted to do and decided to enrol on a combined AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate and Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting course, in an effort to kickstart her career. 

I have spent the last ten years working in the hospitality industry, first as Events Manger, followed by Operations Manager for a spa hotel. Whilst these roles were interesting and mostly enjoyable; like for many people the pandemic gave me a chance to pause for a little while and re-evaluate what I wanted to do. 

In my previous roles I had gained some experience of the finance side of the business, I loved it and I knew I would enjoy a career in this area. So, I set about searching suitable courses and roles that would provide me with a stable, enjoyable, long-term career, along with a good work-life balance. 

Before singing up to ICS Learn, I read the reviews and spoke to the team there, who were amazing at answering my questions and providing me with all the information I needed.

I signed up for the Level 2 Foundation Certificate and Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accountancy and started the curse at the beginning of the year. At a similar time, I also secured a job in accountancy practice, working as a Trainee Accountant, which I love!

Online learning with ICS Learn has been perfect for me, as it has allowed me to study at times that are convenient to me and has really helped me build a good understanding of accounting, which I have been able to put into practice in my new roles. 

All the lessons are really well structured, and I loved the progress checks, which help to make sure I am understanding each topic. 

My tutor has also been fantastic and it's great to know you have that assistance throughout your studies. Any time I have a question, I get a really quick response and my tutor has been so supportive throughout my studies so far.

I have just finished Level 2 and I am really pleased with my exam results. I am now starting Level 3 and really excited about the future and where my studies will take me.

I will absolutely be booking to do Level 4 with ICS Learn as soon as I am ready.

For anyone thinking about signing up to do a course, go for it! Or for those thinking of a career change, definitely make the leap. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
