AAT Student Stories: Rachel Manchester | AAT Level 2 Review

When performance work got slow, Rachel decided to kickstart a new career in finance. Learn more about her journey studying an AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping online with us. 

I'm a professional actor, singer, and musician, and since graduating have been incredibly lucky - traveling the world and doing what I love.

That being said, nobody goes into performance arts for the money, and so I've had to adapt during times of little work. I'm a highly organised person, and so I decided that assisting in a finance department would be an alternative that I would enjoy.

As such, I'm currently a part-time Finance Assistant for a Recruitment Company.

After doing a lot of research and speaking to a few people who had done a similar course, I was drawn to ICS Learn. I also contacted them to ask several questions and was very impressed with the communication and speed of response.

I was incredibly excited at the prospect of online learning – I am a very motivated person and knew that being able to throw myself into my studies would be best for me.

The payment process and setting up my account was so easy, and I was able to start straight away.

I have absolutely loved the course. I found it very well organised, very informative, and have really enjoyed the interactive aspect of it.

My tutor support was great – always quick to get back to me, and I didn’t have any issues asking for help if I was struggling with something.

This qualification has definitely helped with my current Finance position. There are many things that make more sense, and I have also been able to take on further responsibility within the company. I'm considering doing the next level of qualification as well.

I was impressed with how easy it was to follow, and how regularly I was able to test my new knowledge. The support was there if I needed it, which was a comfort, but I also enjoyed being able to study at my own pace, when it suited me.
