Anna decided to take on an AAT Level 2 Foundation qualification with us to help advance her career while she manages her busy lifestyle. Find out more about her story below.
My name is Anna Matusiak. I'm 26 years old and I'm a single mother of two. I'm currently self-employed, working as a hairstylist, and studying to complete my AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting with ICS Learn.
I chose to study with ICS Learn after doing my research on how to begin my career in Accounting.

At first, I was a bit confused about how an online course will help me learn and understand the subject compared to a classroom-based education, however, it's been a great surprise.
ICS Learn has great online live lessons where you can ask any questions you may have; their online pre-recorded lessons are also extremely helpful if you are not available for the live version.
The lessons provided on slides are very self-explanatory and easy to understand, and there are quizzes along the way to make sure you have a full understanding of what has been covered so far and you can go back to it whenever you please.
What I also love about this course is that I am able to take exams as soon as I am ready - there is no set date or time or location you book online with whatever and whenever you are comfortable with.
There is so much I have learned already that I can implement in my own business and has really made me open my eyes to certain issues I was facing.
I've not had to really use my tutor's support as much as I have thought, however, the one time that I have she has replied very quickly and has given me an explanation and advice on my issue.
As I have not completed my course yet, I cannot really say how much it has helped me in my career, however, it just gave me a better knowledge and understanding of the accounts side of my business.
"In the near future, I will be looking to get a job as a Bookkeeper to start off my accounting career, I'm also planning to study the rest of the levels with ICS Learn while I work so that eventually I will be able to become a self-employed Accountant, which is my ultimate goal. "
