CIPD Student Stories: Hayley Raeper | CIPD Level 5 Review

Hayley wanted to get ahead in her budding career and decided to take on a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in HR to do so. Find out more about her learning journey with us below. 

In January 2020 I started my CIPD Level 5 Diploma in HR. At the time, I was employed as an Office Manager for a Digital Marketing Company called DAC.

As part of the role, I was undertaking HR aspects for the UK and a little in Europe. I wanted to be properly qualified for this, hence taking the course.

I decided to study with ICS Learn as I’d heard the name previously and read some good reviews online.

Many years ago I took another online course so understood the overall concept and how it worked. Both were positive experiences.

During my course, I was placed on furlough, which made completing it slightly easier from a time perspective!

I was off work for three months. Upon my return, my job title was amended to Assistant, People & Culture to signify my studies which was great and aligned with the future path I wanted to take within DAC.

The course has made me more confident in my abilities and I feel I’m more supported within the CIPD HR community. I know who to turn to if I have any questions or where to look for the answers.

The course itself was extremely insightful, it didn’t feel like studying as I enjoyed every minute of it.  There are eight modules to work through, no exams, just a written report at the end of each section. The tutors guide you all the way through and they upload recordings of content which is very useful. There is also a student community where you can communicate with other like-minded students.

I completed my course in August 2020 and received my Diploma in November 2020. I would absolutely recommend ICS Learn. All their content was easy to follow and engage with. The course was well put together with everything I needed in one place.
