CIPD Student Stories: Annabelle Griffiths | CIPD Level 7 Review

Annabelle boosted her confidence, gained vital HR expertise and took her career to the next level by studying a CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Human Resources Management.

I’m currently the HR Manager at a private equity owned SME, studying for my CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management. 

Having been an Executive Assistant at the beginning of my career, I have always been interested in people management and have frequently worked closely with HR teams on projects, which gave me a real flavour for what it would be like to have a career in HR. 

I am lucky to have been selected for the development programme run by my company, which included sponsorship for my CIPD Level 7.

Choosing ICS Learn was a no brainer for me. I needed something that would fit around my full time (and normally full on!) job, as well as provide flexibility in regard to how I study. 

I found being able to access the materials via different tech has been hugely beneficial.

This has been my first experience of online learning and I had no idea what to expect or how I’d find it.  It took a bit of getting used to and you have to really want to do it as the only person holding you to account is you!

I am now 5 modules down and 3 to go.  I’ve found just taking it in chunks has helped, focusing on each module, instead of looking ahead… that has also stopped me freaking out at the enormity of the task ahead!

With every module I have gained confidence in my job, confidence in my knowledge and also learnt techniques that I’ve been able to put into practice immediately. 

Once I’ve completed the course, I plan to become chartered with my overall ambition to be an HR leader.  I’m not seeking a job title but having a seat at the table – again something else that I’ve been able to clarify due to undertaking my course and critically analysing what is important to me.

So would I recommend ICS Learn… absolutely!
