GCSE and International GCSE
02 December 2020 - 3 min read
When I moved to London five years ago, I thought that I wanted to work in hospitality for my entire life and build my career around that.
Last year I started to have second thoughts about my occupation.
After applying to my chosen university, I was informed that in order to be admitted, I needed to pass the English GCSE exam.
I started researching for online English GCSE courses. As I was working full time and most of the days, my availability would not have allowed me to take evening classes, so it had to be a flexible type of course.
I called and the person over the phone was extremely friendly and helpful and I enrolled straight away.
In the meantime, I have received a conditional offer from the University and I had to pass my GCSE with a minimum of D or equivalent in order to get in.
The staff has been absolutely amazing, especially when all the summer exams were cancelled due to Covid19.
There were updates made regularly on the website with the latest Government guidelines and news in regards the exams and I am very grateful that I had the chance to get a grade, despite the cancellations.
I am now doing a Foundation year in Chemistry and next year I will start my degree. I am extremely happy to be one step closer to achieving my dream.
