Accountancy

AAT Student Stories: Leonardo | AAT Level 2 & 3 Accountancy Review

Leonardo fought past a hearing impairment to study an AAT Level 2 & 3 Combined course in Accounting and kickstart his Accountancy career in the UK.

I’m from Brazil and in 2013 I completed a degree in Accounting. During my degree I started to work as Accountant assistant in an office. Six months later I was promoted as accountant analyst and I was in charge on bookkeeping and tax.

My first job here in UK was Kitchen Porter, than Chef, waiter, Problem Solver and now IT Technician.

As I have a hearing impairment, I found it hard to improve my English but now I’m confident to back to the school and back to my passion: accounting.

I chose to study accounting (AAT) because I have bachelor degree in accounting in my country and I would like to get back to work on that area, here in uk. I love accounting!.

During the pandemic, on-line courses are the safe option and I can manage better my time because I have previous knowledge about it from my degree. Online learning is good as well because able us to review all the contents at any time.

I found the course on my employer website. They work in partnership with ICS and my employer supporting the payment as a benefit for me.

I recommend ICS, because all the staff is friendly and the course has a good structure and explanation.

My plan for the future is open my own accounting office and help my clients to improve their financial health.
