I moved in to an HR Assistant role in November 2015, having previously worked as a Compliance Officer for the same company.
Wanting to enhance my professionalism and gain more of an understanding of the challenges human resources faced I decided to look to study my Level 3 Human Resources certificate, this being funded by my organisation.
I wanted a 100% online course with a flexible schedule that could work around my full-time job. I looked in to a couple of different providers, however ICS Learn stuck out for me; it was accredited by CIPD, it provided both theoretical and practical skills, it was reasonably priced, and it had an excellent pass rate.
With it being a few years since I had completed my Business degree I felt it was necessary to choose a provider that gave me unlimited 1:1 tutor support and a hub where I could go to whenever I needed help or advice.
When given access to the ICS Learn portal I was both overwhelmed and excited by the amount of learning materials and additional resources they provided to help you with your studies.
I found the live webinars for each module especially helpful; it was just like being in a classroom with other students, but from the comfort of your own sofa!
I loved the online student community where you can chat to others who are completing the same course as you, and it’s nice to know others are in the same boat.
Feedback on assignments is quick, and all tutors are really approachable and experts in the field of HR.
Within the past 3 years I have studied both the Level 3 and Level 5 certificates through ICS Learn, and I’m currently in the process of completing the Level 7 Employment Law module.
These courses have given me a solid understanding of human resources and have allowed me to apply skills learnt to real life situations.
In relation to my organisation, it’s allowed the HR function to grow in knowledge and operate more strategically.
With an ever changing industry that we operate in we’ve been given the knowledge and resources to be prepared for big projects like acquisitions and recruitment drives.
I would definitely recommend ICS Learn to others – I’ve had such a great experience and wouldn’t have moved up to a Senior HR Advisor without these certificates under my belt.
