A Level Student Stories: Tia | A Level Sociology

Tia knew she had to gain her A Levels if she wanted to land a place at University or on an Apprenticeship.
After leaving sixth form without completing my A Levels, I was determined to get back on track.
I chose to study an A Level in Sociology with ICS Learn because I wanted a flexible, high-quality learning option that fit around my job. I was working at the time, so the ability to study at my own pace, from anywhere, was perfect for me.
My main goal was to gain a qualification that would open doors to university or a degree apprenticeship.
I’d always been passionate about Sociology and was excited to study a subject that could help me understand the world and people better.
The online learning platform was amazing clear, easy to navigate, and packed with helpful resources.
I found the structure of the course really effective, with everything broken down into manageable units.
Balancing work and study was challenging, but having full control over my schedule made it manageable and helped me work on my time management skills.
Thanks to ICS Learn, I passed my A Level and went on to receive multiple offers from universities and apprenticeships. I chose to pursue an apprenticeship, and the experience of studying with ICS Learn while working gave me a solid foundation for this.
The skills I gained – self-discipline, organisation, time management and critical thinking – were invaluable to becoming a successful apprentice.
One key lesson I learned is that it’s never too late to turn things around.
I’d absolutely recommend ICS Learn to others – it’s flexible, supportive, and genuinely works.
I completed my degree apprenticeship graduating with a first class degree and have since progressed with multiple promotions in my field.
I would definitely consider using ICS Learn again in the future, especially for a leadership or management course.
The flexibility of the platform suits my working lifestyle perfectly, and I appreciate that there’s a clear structure in place to make it easy for employers to support and fund the course.
Knowing that I could continue to learn and grow professionally while still meeting work commitments is a huge advantage.
