Procurement and Supply
23 April 2024 - 1 min read
My current job title is Procurement Manager for Spencer Civil Engineering Ltd. I have worked here for 3 years now, after making a career change from Law, whereby I previously obtained a Master’s degree after 7 years of study and 5 years in practice.
I am currently taking my CIPS Level 4 with ICS Learn after being able to go straight into level 4 based on previous academic achievements (LLB & LLM).
Knowing that I wanted to get as much out of my new career as possible, to grow and develop,
I definitely had my reservations about choosing online learning as this was completely new to me. My degree previously had been full time with a mixture of lectures and seminars etc, so the experience without a doubt is completely different.
However, I'm confident as long as you have a strict routine whereby you can fit enough time to learn / study into your schedule, this can managed accordingly with the workload provided.
The course is definitely more challenging than I thought, but like I say I think this is because I have less time to study with working full time compares to my previous degree, although if managed in the right way, it's definitely achievable and completely worth it.
I'm currently half way through my course, and it has certainly helped me in the world of procurement.
I would recommend ICS learn for anyone looking to complete further studies alongside working full-time.
Develop your procurement and supply career with a CIPS qualification with ICS Learn. Enrol on a course today.
