Upon joining Veolia in 2016 an opportunity arose for me to study alongside my role to further develop my HR knowledge, skills and confidence.
I chose the CIPD Level 7 Diploma course to equip me with the tools to implement good HR, L&D and People Management in the workplace.
Upon conducting my research on the different providers, I spoke with the ICS Learn team to gather information on the course.
The team were exceptional in the customer service they displayed and the information they provided to me. This gave me confidence from the start that I would be in safe hands throughout the course.
The online material is very clear, with support material on a host of different areas to develop your knowledge through the course. A very useful introduction video gave me all the tips I needed to navigate around the learning material.
You can log on to read a few slides in the morning before work, on your lunch break, in the evening or on weekends. If you have a free block of time you can really get stuck in and do a half or full day of study, as you would in the classroom but at your own speed.
Over the last 17 months, I have completed five of the eight modules on the course and I am currently half way through my sixth module.
Each module has brought with it new skills and development for me, enabling to me grow throughout the course. Driven by the knowledge and skills that I have learned on the course I have had the confidence to put these into practice, bringing the value back to my workplace.
