GCSE Student Stories: Hannah Louise | GCSE Human Biology Review

Hannah took her dentistry career to the next level by studying a International GCSE Human Biology. Here's how it helped advance her career.

I recently gained a grade 4 in Human Biology and I am over the moon I have finally passed. I left school 11 years ago and failed my science GCSE there as it was always my weakest subject and I struggled to find interest in it.

When I signed up to study through ICS learn I was a Head Dental Nurse who fancied a different challenge so I applied to university to become an Orthodontic Therapist. The university wanted me to have the science GCSE so this is why I decided to study through ICS Learn.

Human Biology was my chosen subject as it is the one most related to my work.

I enjoyed studying through ICS Learn as it was helpful to be able to study at my own pace with working a full time job and having a busy life style.

My tutor was supportive and if I had any questions, he was able to answer and advise promptly. I found the resources helpful and as ICS is online it was easy to access either by phone or laptop at work or at home.

The course is useful as after each chapter there are test papers so you can test yourself on what you can remember, and then focus on the things you are struggling with.

I am pleased to say I got into university, and I am currently now two months into studying the Orthodontic Therapy Programme.

I never thought I would pass the Human Biology exam as there was a lot of information to consume but I kept at it and I am so pleased with the results.

I have learnt that it is never too late to resit your GCSE’s and make changes within your lifestyle if you want to. If you can put your mind into doing something worthwhile and successful, then you will achieve.
