Michael Hindmarch

I graduated from Northumbria University in 2002 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, which was the start of my pathway into the fitness industry.  I have worked in both the public and private sector as a Personal Trainer & Exercise Referral Instructor, working 1:1 with clients, as well as teaching exercise classes such as Body Pump and Spinning.

I have over 6 years’ experience of delivering and assessing exercise courses.  I am personally qualified in L4 Obesity & Diabetes Management, L3 Exercise Referral, L3 Personal Training, and in addition to this, I completed my Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector in 2010.  My range of qualifications alongside my varied experience has helped me mentor many students and guide them on their own personal exercise careers.

I am currently employed by Northumberland and Tyne & Wear NHS trust as an Exercise Therapist, and I am registered as an Exercise Practitioner with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, allowing me to prescribe exercise as a means of intervention to improve patients’ health.

Outside of work I like to keep myself fit by competing in Triathlons.  I am a member of a local club and have competed for Great Britain in the World and European age group championships.  I am an exercise enthusiast, and consider myself lucky to work in an industry for which I am very passionate about.
