I graduated from Sunderland University in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport and Exercise Development. From this I immediately started working in the Active Leisure & Learning Sector as a full-time fitness instructor, as well as a multi-skills sports coach with afterschool clubs. I then progressed into roles as a sports centre manager and freelance Personal Trainer within my local community.
I have over 7 years of experience delivering and assessing exercise courses, including L2 Fitness Instruction, L3 Personal Training, L3 Exercise Referral, L3 Diploma in Health & Fitness and various other awards, e.g. L2 Circuit Training, L2 Kettlebells and L2 Studio Cycling Instruction.
I am currently also employed by Tyne Metropolitan College as a trainer in Exercise & Fitness. My role requires me to deliver a wide range of courses, including Study Programme Curriculum, Adult Evening Classes, Foundation Degree Modules and NVQs in Fitness Instruction, Activity Leadership and Personal Training to apprentices across North, South Tyneside and Northumberland.
I am an extremely professional, outgoing, enthusiastic individual who gets pleasure in improving people’s skills, knowledge, health and well-being. Outside of work I like to keep fit through a range of cardio and strength & conditioning training. I have a season ticket for Sunderland Football Club, love cooking and my main priority is spending time with my young daughter.
