The CIM Level 4 Award in Digital Marketing is about appreciating the importance of the ever-evolving, dynamic digital landscape and developing the skills you need to excel in it. 

It's ideal if you're working in a marketing assistant or support position and want to advance your career or specialise in digital. It's also perfect if you need key digital marketing skills for any role.

This online course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the UK's premier professional marketing association, so what you'll learn will be highly respected and sought after by employers.

This CIM Digital Marketing course will teach you about the challenges and opportunities you'll face, and give you the tools you need to support and enhance digital marketing activities in companies of any size. You'll also learn about the importance of effective digital monitoring and measurement techniques that enable organisations to improve the effectiveness of digital marketing.

Once you've completed this course, you could move on to study the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing course. This Award forms one module of the full Certificate, so you'll already be part of the way there. 

This course consists of the Digital Marketing module from the full CIM Level 4 Certificate

You'll study three units, which are:


Unit 1 - The Digital Landscape

  1. You'll learn to understand the opportunities and challenges presented through the disruptive digital environment
  2. You'll learn to assess the impact and influence of the dynamic digital environment

Unit 2 – Digital Toolkit

  1. You'll find out how key digital tools can support and enhance marketing
  2. You'll learn to understand the relevance of digital platforms and channels in context

Unit 3 – Digital in Action

  1. You'll be able to develop digital activities to support and enhance multichannel marketing
  2. You'll learn to apply the key principles involved in monitoring and measuring digital marketing effectiveness

This course is perfect for you if you're working in a marketing support or assistant role and want to advance your career. It's also ideal if you're a professional marketer who wants to specialise in digital marketing, or a more general manager who requires digital marketing knowledge.

You should have at least one or more of the following to enrol on this course:

  1. CIM Level 3 Introductory or Foundation Certificate in Marketing
  2. Any relevant Level 3 Introductory or Foundation Certificate in Marketing
  3. Professional practice (suggested one year in a marketing role)
  4. Any relevant Level 3 qualification
  5. Any UK degree or international equivalent
  6. International Baccalaureate (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above)

If English isn't your first language, you'll need to have gained one of the following within the last two years:

  1. IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above)
  2. Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above 

Other equivalent alternatives will be considered.

You'll also complete a CIM diagnostic test before you enrol. Our course advisors will talk you through this process.

However your role involves digital marketing, this course will give you the skills you need to excel.

You could continue your education by completing the full CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing (Digital Marketing)The 15 credits credits you'll complete for this Award count towards the 30 credits you need for the Certificate, so you'll only need to complete an additional two modules to gain the more comprehensive qualification.

You could also move on to higher level CIM qualifications once you're working in a more senior marketing role.

Unlimited Support

You’ll be assigned an expert academic tutor who'll be with you from enrolment to graduation. Their support is unlimited and you can contact them by phone or via the Student Community. They’ll answer any questions you have about coursework, study materials, and assessments, and help you work through any part of the course you’re stuck with.

They’ll also give you test papers and mock exams to ensure you’re ready to pass your exams. All your papers will be given constructive feedback so you know exactly what your strengths are and what you can improve.

Test Paper

You'll complete one test paper to check your progress. It'll be marked by your tutor so you know where you're doing well and where you need to improve. This won't count towards your final award.

CIM Assessment

You'll be assessed on a portfolio of work which is broken down into three tasks: research, plan and report.
