Our fully online CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Development course is ideal for you if you're in a senior L&D or HR position and want to formalise, consolidate and extend your expertise. It's equivalent to a postgraduate degree and is the highest level of study CIPD offers.

Once you've completed the course, you'll automatically become an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the largest professional HR & L&D body in Europe, and you'll have the opportunity to gain Chartered Membership once you've got the relevant professional experience.

A CIPD Advanced Diploma will demonstrate to employers that you're committed to your personal professional development, and that you uphold the highest possible standards in HR and L&D. 

Through your Level 7 study, you'll learn how to design and deliver strategic organisational change that will enhance your company's performance. You'll learn how to investigate business issues from an HR perspective, and how to develop managerial skills in business leaders. You'll become an expert at leading, managing and developing people.

You'll be able to specialise in one of four areas: talent management, employment relations, reward management, or employment law.

Structure of Qualification

To achieve the CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Development, you need a total of 120 credits. 

You'll get these by completing 8 modules: all of the Core and Group A modules, and one module from Group B. Each individual modules is worth 15 credits.

Group B (Optional)

  1. Resourcing and Talent Management 
  2. Managing Employment Relations 
  3. Reward Management 
  4. Employment Law 

This is the most advanced and respected CIPD L&D qualification. To take this Level 7 course, you should have a solid background in HR or L&D and be prepared to take on post-graduate level study.

This CIPD Advanced qualification is ideal if you're:

  1. Responsible for L&D decision-making at an operational or tactical level
  2. Responsible for the L&D function and activities
  3. Working as an independent consultant, supporting organisations in meeting their goals
  4. Aspiring to become a Chartered member of CIPD

If English is your second language, you’ll need an IELTS 6.5 or ESOL Level 2 (or equivalent). If you don’t have this, we’ll review your case on an individual basis.

This is the highest level qualification that CIPD offers. Once you have the relevant professional experience, you can join CIPD as a Chartered Member or a Chartered Fellow.

Your course materials have been specially designed for online learning by experts in the field. You'll work through step-by-step units so you can easily keep track of your progress.

You'll have the opportunity to join a live induction webinar when you start your course. It's designed to help you navigate your way around the student community, to offer you help and support, and most importantly to give you a warm and friendly welcome to ICS Learn. We usually hold one a week, and you can attend any one that suits you.

Unlimited Support

You’ll be assigned an expert academic tutor who'll be with you from enrolment to graduation. Their support is unlimited and you can contact them by phone or via the Student Community. They’ll answer any questions you have about coursework, study materials, and assessments, and help you work through any part of the course you’re stuck with.

They’ll also give you test papers and mock exams to ensure you’re ready to pass your exams. All your papers will be given constructive feedback so you know exactly what your strengths are and what you can improve.

Our dedicated student support team will be on hand to assist you with administrative tasks, using the Student Community, and any other non-academic queries you may have.

There are two modules assessed by exam, HRM in Context and Leading, Managing and Developing People.

The other modules will be assessed through written assignments submitted online.  

Exams are set nationally by CIPD and exam diets are held in January, May and September.

Before you can enrol for an exam, you must have completed all of the practice assessments to ensure you're well-prepared. You'll enrol around 4 months before the exam date.

You'll need to be a CIPD member to sit your exams, and you'll pay a non-refundable exam fee to CIPD.
