You'll learn to conduct a performance review, how motivational theories and associated tools can be used, and how these can impact your organisation's business objectives.

The course consists of one module from the CIPD Level 3 Diploma taken as a standalone qualification.

Entry requirements

You don’t need any prior experience or qualifications to enrol on this Foundation Level HR course.

If English is your second language, we recommend you have an IELTS 6.5/ESOL Level 2 or equivalent, but we're happy to review your case on an individual basis.

 

Course content

Your course and assignments are fully online.

You'll learn to:

  • Explain the link between organisational success, performance management and motivation
  • Explain the relationship between performance and reward
  • Contribute to effective performance and reward management in the workplace
  • Conduct and reflect upon a performance review

If you'd like to study a broader range of topics and prepare for entry-level HR roles, we recommend the comprehensive Level 3 Diploma or mid-length Level 3 Certificate.

 

Qualification

On completion of this course, you'll achieve a CIPD Level 3 Foundation Award in Human Resource Essentials, and your certificate from CIPD will reflect this. The subject you studied will be specified on your attached transcript.

Please note that this Award won't qualify you for CIPD associate membership.

As a rough guide, Level 3 is for those with no or minimal HR experience. It’s perfect if you’re looking for your first HR role.

Level 5 is for those with some HR experience who are looking for a mid-level HR role. It’s also suitable if you’re new to HR but have a degree and want to begin your learning at a higher level.

There are no exams or workshops on this course. 

For your assessment, you'll film yourself conducting a performance review role-play and submit the video online to be marked by your tutor.

You'll also complete two written tasks.
