Association of Accounting Technicians courses are set at three levels:
Advanced courses are the mid-level accounting and bookkeeping qualifications awarded by AAT. The courses are aimed at individuals looking to advance their existing knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping and prepare professionals for the next step in their career. These intermediate courses are essential on the pathway to becoming a fully-qualified accountant.
They'll give you the comprehensive skills and knowledge you need to take on mid-level roles, and will ensure you're well-prepared to advance in your career.
If you're studying bookkeeping, Advanced is the highest level of AAT study. If you're studying accounting, you'll be able to move on to Professional level.
*Based on 1,280 exam sittings and 1,215 passes by ICS Learn AAT students between July 2015 and June 2016.
With few entry requirements, AAT Advanced qualifications are suitable for:
Advanced courses sit on the Qualifications and Credit Framework at Level 3, or Level 6 in the Scottish system. This means that they’re roughly equal in difficulty to A Levels.
If you're unsure, give our course advisors a call - they'll run through your professional experience and education to make sure you’re on the right path.
You can also take the AAT Skillcheck, a 30-minute multiple choice test that will gauge your accounting knowledge and tell you which level will suit you best.
Once you've had a look at the course page for the course you're interested in, you can contact our expert AAT advisors by phone, email or webchat. They’ll run through everything you need to know and answer any questions you may have.
Once you're ready, you'll enrol over the phone with your course advisor, and set up your preferred payment method.
We want to make studying as accessible as possible so we offer all our students the option to pay the course fees in monthly, interest-free instalments. On the day you enrol, all you have to pay is a small deposit towards the overall course price.
We're also able to invoice businesses, so if you're lucky enough to have your course fees paid by your employer, simply speak to our course advisors and they'll be able to talk you through the invoice process.
Because our courses are fully online there are no set start dates or cohorts like you'd find in a traditional study environment (and even with many other online learning providers!). We're committed to making things as easy and convenient for you as possible, so you can enrol any day you like and get started on your studies straight away. Simple!
