Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounts

Introduction to Finance and Accounting
- Discover the use of accounts in management
- Examine sources of business finance
- Explore working capital.
Accounting for Business Managers
- Learn accounting concepts, financial record-keeping, final accounts and company accounts covering profit and loss and balance sheets.
Accounting Control Systems
- Explore budgetary control systems, standard costing and variance analysis
- Learn about costing systems including break-even analysis, and look at control ratios.
- Delve into Ratio analysis and cash flow statements
- Discover the discounted cash flow
- Learn about cost-benefit analysis techniques.

Assessments are a great way of checking your progress. During your Bookkeeping and Accounts course, you'll complete seven unit assessments and a final end of course assessment.
Many questions have multiple parts (i.e. Question 1 a, b, c, etc.). Short answer questions normally require you to write between a sentence and a paragraph.
Scenario-based questions test that you can apply the knowledge you have learnt from the course to imaginary scenarios. For example, you may be given some information about an imaginary business and then be required to prepare its accounts.
