Our wonderful Digital Marketing Executive Ruby Kiss-Ladjanszky tells us what it was like to complete the PRINCE2® Foundation course. Well done Ruby!

I was really excited to get started with my PRINCE2 project management course because PRINCE2 certificates are accepted and used in 220 countries. This means that this qualification is respected all over the world and represents an industry-standard best practice in the project management field. Basically, no matter where you live, you will be able to use the PRINCE2 methodology.

I was very fortunate that my employer funded the course, so after discussing my interest in PRINCE2, my manager supported me to get started. I am a Digital Marketing Executive, so this project management framework was absolutely new to me, and I really appreciated that the course is fully online.

As the course is fully flexible, I could study whenever I had time; I just logged in the Student Community, even when I only had 10-15 mins, and watched 1 lesson.

The Prince2 Foundation course materials are all recorded videos which I really enjoyed. They are easy to understand with clear illustrations to make sure everyone can grasp the PRINCE2 principles, themes and processes. The lecturer on the videos is Frank Turley who has a vast experience in project management, so his insights are valuable and credible.

The course can be studied intensively as well, let’s say in a week’s time, but I took my time and spread it out to fit it around my schedule and other activities. When I had questions, I could contact my personal tutor who responded to me in a timely manner at all times. After I completed all the lessons and reviewed everything, I felt ready to take the exam.

What I really liked about the exam procedure is that you can take an online proctored exam, from home or from your office if you like, so you don’t have to go to an exam centre necessarily.

After booking the exam slot online with the exam code I’d received via email from my study centre, ICS Learn, I went ahead and sat my MCQ from home. What’s more, right after you complete the test, you receive your results! So you don’t have to wait weeks or months to find out whether you passed which is brilliant.

Now, that I have the PRINCE2 Foundation certificate, I plan to go on and study the Practitioner level to make sure I have all the knowledge required to become a fully qualified PRINCE2 professional. In the long term, I hope this qualification will help me build my career to take on more responsibilities in my role. As PRINCE2 can be applied at any kinds of projects, I wish to use the PRINCE2 methodology in the future to manage marketing projects in a more organised and more efficient manner.

As I believe in continuous professional development, I think the PRINCE2 Foundation course is an excellent choice for those who wish to learn something new that can be applied in various fields.

I would highly recommend this course to all who are planning to work in Project Management or who are involved in cross-functional projects at work.
