In her role as an Operational Learning & Development Advisor, Gemma Cartman wanted to improve her L&D knowledge so she undertook a CIPD L&D qualification with us.

My name is Gemma and I work at Step Change Debt Charity as an Operational Learning & Development advisor.

I chose ICS Learn to fit around my day to day role. The flexibility of being able to log on whenever I want has been brilliant, it’s enabled me to maintain my social commitments and work life balance.

I spent a lot of time researching different providers and found ICS Learn had great reviews from previous students and the pass rate was excellent.

I’m studying the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and the course has excellent material that’s so easy to access!

Once I signed up my tutor emailed me straight away and introduced themselves, I felt this really gave a personal touch. It was great to know the background of my tutor and it gave me real confidence to contact them with any queries I had.

I’ve found learning online so easy to work around as I can even use my smartphone to log on during my commuting time and read through the material.

The course itself has improved my confidence in my role, it’s made me really reflect on what I want to achieve going forward and put a plan in place to get there.

The content is broken down into modules that are straight forward to follow. Each assignment has great guidance clearly braking down what’s expected of you.

The support along the way has been great, you can chat to other students online or have the comfort of knowing you can contact your tutor anytime you need support.

I feel my skillset has improved throughout the course and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone.

I was very apprehensive about going back to studying as I haven’t done anything like this in nearly 8 years! ICS Learn have made this transition back to studying feel manageable and exciting!

I would recommend the course to anyone in or wanting to go into a Learning and Development environment. It will give you a thorough insight into the world of L&D.
