ICS Learn Case Study: Itad Ltd

HR Advisor with Itad Ltd, Jane Stanton, studied two of our CIPD courses. She was able to study around her schedule, without disruption to her working week.

I enrolled with ICS Learn to complete the CIPD Level 5 Award in Employment Law, and the following year I went back to complete the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Award in Employment Law.

I chose the CIPD because their qualifications are the recognised professional standard for HR specialists. I chose the Employment Law Awards as employment law knowledge is a key part of my role.

I needed to be able to do the courses entirely as distance learning and not have to travel to London for example for face to face tutorials, and ICS Learn was one of the very few providers to give that option.  

Studying online worked very well for me to fit it around working part-time and childcare commitments.

All of the materials provided were very clear and comprehensive, and the detailed feedback from tutors on assignments was very helpful and meant I could improve on each assignment.

The website was very easy to navigate. I also found the online forums very useful to share experience and information with other students on my course.

Learning more about employment law and developing my skills in that area has helped me in my role in strengthening my knowledge and confidence in the subject.

Studying with ICS Learn meant I could achieve my qualification whilst still working part-time and enhanced the knowledge in our HR team on employment law. Fitting it around my schedule really helped with my work life balance and ensuring all my other responsibilities and commitments could be met.
