CIPD Student Stories: Raiela Ali | CIPD Level 5 Diploma Review

Raiela wasn't going to let working full-time get in the way of her career development so she studied a flexible, online CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management with ICS Learn. Here's her story.

My name is Raiela Ali, I work in a high school as HR and Payroll. I am currently studying the CIPD Level 5 Diploma through ICS Learn.

Making the decision to study was a big step, which is why I chose to study with ICS Learn after my workplace offered to support my learning. This in turn would benefit me an as an individual but also the organisation.

After researching on HR online courses and talking to a number of online providers, I felt ICS Learn best suited my work-life balance to do the course.

Being a mother and working full time I knew juggling work, family, and learning is not an easy thing to do. I knew online learning was the best option for me and the flexibility around completing the course fitted well around my current commitments at my own pace.

The tutors and ICS Learn helpdesk offer great support and feedback and no question is a silly question.

I have worked in HR for a number of years but have not gained a recognised qualification; this course will help my work and improve my career prospects in my current organisation and future career development.

I feel this will open more doors to me in the world of HR. Online learning has so far helped facilitate the ability to think critically about what I do every day.

I started this course in January and aim to complete this course within 12 months this shows my organisation that I can tackle multiple tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing work conditions. The learning has increased my knowledge and confidence in providing HR support and advice to senior leaders and employees.
