After an illness, Katie reassessed her life and decided to start a new career with a CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management. Here's her inspiring story.

I had always had a strong interest in HR due to my experience as a trade union rep, and after suffering illness, I decided to make some positive changes for my future, including within my career. 

At the time I was working as a customer service advisor in a call centre and decided to sign up to CIPD Level 5 Diploma to start my HR journey and build on the knowledge I had gained as a trade union rep.

During studying I gained my first HR role as a HR Administrator in the care sector which was a fantastic role gaining valuable experience in the world of HR, and, after gaining my qualification, I have progressed in my career and gained a role as a HR Advisor within the defence sector, with my CIPD qualification being instrumental in gaining these roles.
