ICS Real Stories: Kameel | CIPD Level 3 Review
Kameel decided to embark on a career in HR for increased stability and better prospects. Find out how a CIPD qualification assisted in her development.
Hi, my name is Kameel. Around this time last year, I was working as a machine operator in a small plastics manufacturing factory. I had been to university with the ambition of becoming a teacher but had lost the passion for what I had wanted to do and had been there for 5 years.
After being told that my job was no longer secure due to Brexit, I took my time and did some thorough research into possible career paths that would provide stability, progression and constant learning.
I decided that I liked the sound of working in HR and, with further research, I decided a level 3 CIPD qualification would be the best course of action to show potential employers that I was serious about my decision.
I found out about the ICS Learn CIPD course through the internet and it fit perfectly around my life where I work full-time, look after my baby brother, and have an active social life.
The course has been so interesting and there is no shortage of support from professors and other students alike.
It's been 8 months since I began my CIPD journey, and I am thrilled to have recently started my first HR job in a huge aerospace company.
By including that I was studying for a CIPD qualification on my CV, my now employer believed I was the right candidate to join his team.
I fully intend to go on to complete my level 5 and 7 qualifications next.
My role now is a HR Associate; my aim is to be promoted to HR Advisor in 2 years and would like to keep moving up with the goal of becoming a HR Business Partner within the same company I am working for now.
I am hugely thankful for ICS Learn and their tailored learning approach, as without this course I would still be in a job with no prospects and no stability.
I have recommended this course to many others who wish to start a career in HR and will continue to do so.
