ICS Real Stories: Jennifer | Online CIPD L&D Level 5 Review
Studying our online CIPD Level 5 L&D course has given Jennifer confidence in her practice as a People Development Advisor.
I started my HR career 2 years ago, after deciding that I wanted to specialise within training and people development.
I joined as an Operational Trainer and began delivering things such as the induction programme. I really enjoyed my job and knew that it was the right career for me, so I decided to expand my skills by completing a CIPD qualification.
I looked at a few CIPD course providers but decided to use ICS Learn because of a number of factors.
I liked that I could study at my own pace and was really impressed by how quickly my queries were answered by the support team. I also self-funded my qualification, so found it very appealing that I pay for the course in monthly repayments with no added interest.
I was initially concerned about completing a distance learning course as I was worried that it would lack support, however, there were no local collages which offered the CIPD Learning and Development course.
During my course, I felt very supported by my tutor and would get detailed and quick responses to any queries that I submitted.
I also liked that my assignments were marked really quickly. I always received a response within 1 week.
Whereas other colleagues of mine who had used local collages to complete their courses told me that they would wait over a month for feedback.
I have found the quality of the content really good & it has helped me develop my career within Learning and Development.
My role has changed, and I am now a People Development Advisor which allows me to use all of the skills which I have learnt within my qualification. It has provided me with confidence within my practice and I have also been able to network with other likeminded people.
In the future, I would like to move into a Learning and Development Manager role & I believe that this qualification will support me.
The course has made me think strategically about Learning and Development, by building business cases and policies.
You do need to have strong self-motivation skills & I would recommend creating a training plan to help you manage your personal progress. I would also recommend utilising the support available through the tutors & the shared forums.
I would recommend completing this qualification and using ICS Learn.
