ICS Real Stories: Amber-Lea | Online AAT Review
Classroom learning didn't work for Amber-Lea Kelly, however, with one of our online Accountancy courses she can study with much more flexibility.
Ever since school I always had a love for numbers and wanted to study accountancy.
I did try normal college, but it wasn’t for me, unfortunately, life and bills got in the way. Distance learning is great to fit around your family and allows you to work and earn money at the same time.
I was unsure at first if it would be really hard not to have a teacher as such there to ask questions but all the materials you’re given along with your personal tutor and the student forum, there is always help available if you do get stuck or have any questions.
Studying and completing a qualification was something that I always wanted to do but thought it was too difficult to sort out, so just kept on putting it off.
I found out my work was offering partial funding for courses, so that gave me the push I needed to look into it further.
ICS Learn were so helpful. I had several phone calls and emails with advisors to discuss the different options and details before I agreed to start the course.
They helped me sort out manageable monthly payments for the remaining course balance my work would not cover.
They were also able to include exam costs within this, so I didn’t have to worry about finding money to sit an exam when they came up.
The study platform is really easy to use, with lots of helpful extra resources. There is a student forum page where you can post questions to students for any help with your course material or exams.
You can also read questions posted by other students and see if they have the same query.
Once I have completed my current course I plan on starting another course with ICS Learn, and then possibly changing my career into accountancy and using all the skills and knowledge I have learnt.
I would 100% recommend ICS Learn to anyone wanting to do distance learning, everyone is so helpful and friendly and it’s a lovely learning community.
