ICS Real Stories: Paisley-May | CIPD Level 3 Review
Paisley-May was working as a dental nurse but wanted to pursue a career in HR. She enrolled on a Level 3 CIPD course and secured a Regional HR Advisor role.
I recently completed my CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Practice with ICS Learn.
I self-funded my studies whilst working as a Dental Nurse as I was looking for a change in career.
Partway through my studies I managed to secure a job as a Regional HR Advisor for Bunzl Catering Supplies, as they could see I was serious about a future career in HR and were willing to take the chance on me.
Having this link into the HR world and being able to relate to what I was learning in my studies and put this into practice made the world of a difference.
I have now been with the company almost 6 months and I am due to start my CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management, which the organisation has agreed to fund.
I chose ICS Learn as I was working full time in a Dental Practice, so I needed to be able to fit my studies around my work and personal commitments.
I was initially a little worried about being able to motivate myself into studying from home and how difficult I may find distance learning so many years after school.
However, the whole process was relatively simple and ICS Learn were always on hand to support where necessary.
I struggled to attend the live webinars due to my busy schedule, however it was easy enough to just watch back the recorded sessions in my own time.
Access to these recorded sessions also meant I could re-watch these whenever I needed to, which was really handy when completing my assessments.
I actually recommended ICS Learn to a friend of mine who also works in HR but was struggling to get her employer to back her studies.
Thanks to the finance options that ICS Learn provides she’s also managed to take the leap and fund her studies herself to aid her career progression.
She’s now studying the Level 5 with ICS Learn as she is a working mum who also needed the flexibility that online learning provides.
