Payroll Manager at Saffron Housing Trust, Cristi Tinjala found HR questions from his coworkers tricky. He undertook a CIPD Level 5 Diploma to help his colleagues with confidence.

My name is Cristi Tinjala and I work for Saffron Housing Trust as a Payroll Manager. Having great support from my employer, I decided to study the Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management in order to develop my career further.

I chose ICS Learn because they could offer online courses, an important feature as I am working full-time and I would not have the necessary time off to participate in classrooms.

I started my CIPD studies with ICS Learn after a random discussion I had with my HR Director. It was not a straightforward decision, but I enrolled on the Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management.

This is where ICS Learn played their constructive role and reassured me that the decision to study again can be fun and definitely rewarding. So far, I am enjoying the online modules.

This helped me to plan my studies and offered me great work-life balance at the same time. All the tutors are supportive and their feedback has always helped me to overcome any difficulties I have encountered so far.

In my position I am always in contact with the organisation’s employees and their queries are not always related solely to payroll.

I found it difficult in the past to answer to HR-related queries as this was not my strongest point, but my present studies are increasing my confidence and I am already seeing the benefits of the new HR skills I have developed.

My company can now streamline their HR procedures, as many employment related queries can be answered by the payroll department as well as HR department.

Continuous development and studying is indeed great and relaxing. I do recommend ICS Learn as I found them very professional and supportive.
