CIPD Student Stories: Anna Burton | CIPD Level 5 Review

Anna enrolled on a Level 5 CIPD Diploma with us to explore HR as an exciting new career choice. She loved our online webinars and tutor support.

I currently work for the Police Service in child safeguarding.

Having briefly had exposure to some work involving establishment and development within the organisation, I decided that I wanted to explore the Human Resources world with a view to a possible career change.

I couldn’t commit to the same hours each week to attend study sessions and so online studying at home seemed like the sensible option.

I researched companies that offered the CIPD qualifications; ICS Learn was very competitive in terms of price and the reviews were excellent.

I began my Level 5 CIPD Diploma last year with 18 months to complete it in. I haven’t studied in over 15 years and have never done any Harvard referencing. To say that I was anxious before I started is an understatement.

The introductory module and information makes navigating the site easy and clearly explains what is required.

Once I completed the introduction, and with the use of the Student Handbook, I felt confident and excited to be beginning the course.

Each module flows easily and is supported with an online webinar.

These are so useful, where you can ask the tutor any questions you might have, no matter how trivial they seem.

The fact that these can be accessed after the webinar is finished is also really valuable so that you can revisit reach section according to which section of the assignment you’re completing.

The tutors are always on hand to answer queries and reply within hours usually, which is really helpful. I never had any need to speak to a tutor on the phone but you could request a call easily.

The assignments are easy to submit and mine were all marked quickly, so I wasn’t left wondering how I had done.

This course was challenging, and you need self-motivation to sit down, learn the material and conduct your own research, but the support you receive is great and makes it much easier to complete.

I have just completed all of the modules and am looking forward to hopefully, using this information in my future career. I plan to update by CV with my new qualification and start to search for jobs in the HR world.

I would not hesitate in recommending ICS Learn. It is an easy and affordable way to learn, and achieve qualifications, allowing you to reach new goals and explore new career opportunities.
