Course Overview

Develop an appreciation of the size of the UK airport industry and its regulatory framework for operation.  Focus on developing your communication and customer service skills and how to recognise opportunities to use these skills during a flight.  Develop your understanding of the role that air cabin crew play in maintaining the health, safety, security and hygiene of passengers and crew and the cabin environment.  Explore job opportunities and the application process.

Explore the role and responsibilities of air cabin crew, and understand how these may differ between airlines. Consider the importance of effective teamwork. Develop your own action plan for seeking employment.

• People Skills and Sales

Learn how to provide a high level of customer service. Discover how to deal with common passenger complaints and concerns. Explore the various opportunities for sales, including in-flight products and services.

• Health, Safety, Security and Hygiene

Learn the key laws and regulations relating to the health, safety, security and hygiene of both passengers and crew. Discover how to recognise and deal with health issues that passengers may experience.

• Preparing for Employment

Explore the recruitment process for different types of airlines and learn how to produce an effective application and how to succeed at an interview. Examine contracts and conditions of service for different types of airlines.

Outline

You’ll complete five assessments during your course (one for each unit). It is simple and easy to complete these assessments online via the ICS Student Community. When you complete an assessment online, it is marked instantly, meaning that you receive your result straightaway. This allows you to progress through your course without delay. It is, however, also possible to handwrite your answers and post these to ICS.

• Assessment 5: 45 multiple choice questions

Notes

Each multiple choice question comes with three or four potential answers. Only one of these answers is correct; the others are wrong. You must identify the correct answer.
