• Using AutoCAD™  2D

Familiarise yourself with the user interface and discover how the graphics screen can be customised and a standard sheet created. Learn how to draw and erase lines and circles and use a range of other draw and modify commands. Explore the selection set, the 2D drawing aids and layers. Discover how to add dimensioning and hatching to a CAD drawing.

• Using AutoCAD™  3D

Learn how to use polylines, multilines and complex lines, as well as how to create groups. Investigate further draw and modify commands, such as the array command. Discover how to change the properties of screen objects and how to create text tables, as well as how to add tolerances to a drawing. Explore blocks, write blocks, dynamic blocks and external references. Learn how to create isometric, oblique and planometric pictorial drawings.

You’ll complete two assessments during your course. These assessments can be submitted to ICS online via the Student Community, or they can be posted to ICS. It is recommended that you submit your assessments online as you will receive your results more quickly this way.
