Studing Make-up by distance learning?

This Level 2 Make-up Artist course develops both underpinning knowledge and practical skills..  You’ll complete a number of written assignments and create a portfolio of your make-up activities, which will involve taking photographs of your work. Your tutor will mark and grade your completed work, providing you with constructive feedback.

Technical requirements and fees

You’ll need access to a camera to record your practical work. Edexcel registration fees of £50.80 are additional to your course fees.

Outline

You’ll complete four assessments during your course.

Assessment Breakdown

• Assessment 1: you will be required to reflect on your skills and produce a personal development plan. You will also be tested, through short answer questions, on your knowledge of career opportunities for make-up artists, as well as on your understanding of the legal responsibilities of make-up artists.
• Assessment 2: a practical assignment requiring you to prepare a model for make-up
• Assessment 3: a practical assignment requiring you to demonstrate a range of make-up designs
• Assessment 4: a practical assignment requiring you to create make-up designs for a range of occasions, including wedding and catwalk

Notes

Short answer questions normally require you to write between a sentence and a paragraph.

While carrying out each practical assignment, you will be required to create a range of material which will be used for assessment. This will include photographic evidence of each make-up treatment, a short written report on your impressions of each treatment, and questionnaires to be competed by the models used in each treatment.
