Our BSc Nursing (top up) degree is a natural
progression if you are a UK Registered Nurse with a Higher
Education Diploma and looking for continuing your professional
development in nursing through distance learning. Since September
2013 new entrants to the nursing profession will have to study a
degree to gain their nursing qualification. The Nursing Degree will
open doors to promotion or further study and professional
development in nursing.
Please note that in order to enrol on the course, you need
to fulfil two criteria:
- Be registered as a nurse through the Nursing and
Midwifery Council (NMC) and have a valid pin number which is issued
to all nurses in the UK.
- Possess a Nursing Diploma
What our students say
Chinyere Okerenta who graduated with our BSc Nursing (top-up) degree
Chinyere, whose three children are all still at school, completed her BSc nursing course while continuing to work full-time and care for her family. She said: “It was very difficult but my husband and my colleagues encouraged me. I also got a lot of support from my mentors at ICS. When I was struggling, they would say to me, ‘You can do it, come on!’ It took a lot of courage, self-discipline and sacrifice but it was worth it. The day I graduated I was over the moon."
