Remote working could benefit business and management course-takers

23 Feb 2010

Workers can become more productive if allowed to operate remotely, it has been stated.

People taking business and management courses through distance learning could enjoying more flexible working options if companies heed the advice given by an IT infrastructure performance company.

Employees can be "more productive" working from home, according to Riverbed Technology, which argued that companies stand to benefit from providing workers with the technology to operate remotely.

"Having the correct infrastructure in place for employees to access their business critical applications from home is the key to a successful remote working experience," said Mark Lewis, a director of marketing and alliances at the firm.

He went on to say that "working from home can often prove to be more productive to many employees as there are fewer distractions".

According to a survey by business internet service provider Lumison, culture is the biggest single obstacle to remote and flexible working as some bosses are sceptical about whether employees are actually working when away from the office.
