Expert gives 2010 beauty and fitness predictions
15 Dec 2009
A beauty expert has predicted that women will be moneywise with cosmetic expenditure in 2010.
In news that may be of interest to individuals taking beauty and fitness courses through distance learning, the cosmetics industry will have a difficult time persuading women to part with their money in 2010.
That is the opinion of beauty and technology expert Zara Rabinowicz, who said that women will continue watching the pennies when it comes to spending next year.
She explained that thanks to the current economic climate "people will still make sure they don''t squander their cash".
"They''ve learnt in 2009 that it''s possible to look good on a budget and that weekly hair appointments are not necessary," said Ms Rabinowicz.
According to the beauty expert, the next year will see a dominance of dramatic makeup with eyes becoming "defined and more contoured" using heavy eyeliner. She added that interest in teeth whitening is also likely to increase.
In September Mintel published research showing that 28 per cent of British women discard their makeup, shampoo and shower gel if they smell unusual or become discoloured.
