04 Feb 2010

People on business and management courses have been given tips on executive recruitment.

Business and management course-takers aspiring to secure an executive position have been advised to look at common trends in the area of a company they plan to work in.

Andrew Robinson, head of human resources operations at Henderson Global Investors has provided tips on what is needed for such position, saying requirements of the segment shape the qualities desired.

Speaking of applicants shortlisted for a top-level post with the company, he said they should arrive at the interview prepared to challenge the company and ask questions.

"It is a lot more about what they can bring to the company such as fresh ideas and the ability to inspire our existing teams to be the best," he explained.

"This can include challenging the status quo and looking for more creative solutions or strong ideas for business development."

Business and management courses can be undertaken through distance learning from ICSlearn, which has a variety of other programmes including IT training and education and social care qualifications.
