Examiner provides GCSE students with tips on passing qualifications

10 Mar 2010

Students at a Scarborough secondary school have been told of some suitable revision techniques to help them pass their GCSE exams.

GCSE students in Scarborough recently benefited from some useful advice from an examiner that may help them pass their exams.

The Scarborough Evening News highlights that Keith Brindle, a principal examiner for the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance, was recently a guest speaker at a local secondary school.

Among the tips that he provided, which may also benefit adult students aiming to gain new qualifications, was to follow set revision techniques and to ensure questions are answered in a specific manner.

Margaret Magee, learning leader for literacy at St Augustine''s School, told the publication: "All of the pupils said that they thoroughly enjoyed the day and not only learnt a great deal but were also entertained by Mr Brindle.

"Some of the comments from the students included that they had learned all the techniques needed to successfully revise."

Reading past course exam papers and following a structured revision pattern are both strategies that an individual can employ ahead of any tests to increase the chances of them gaining a qualification.
