UK Plumbing Careers - Your Route to Success
If you are a newcomer to plumbing, you can get a real plumbing qualification by home study with the ICS distance learning plumbing course.
Once you have the completed the initial plumber course - which gives you the basic knowledge - you will be awarded the ICS Plumbing Diploma. You can choose to end your studies here, or go on to get industry-recognised plumbing qualifications.

The first route to becoming an approved plumber would be to gain a Technical Certificate. With the knowledge gained during the ICS Plumbing Diploma, you can get a City and Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate by completing practical plumber training and assessment at one of our accredited City and Guilds centres.
Another route after completion of the ICS Plumbing Diploma is to gain an NVQ. Provided you have 5 years or more plumbing experience, you will be exempt from practical training, and will only have to do a knowledge and on-the-job assessment. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the City and Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering Services (Domestic).
