Key frame animation

  • Describe the basic principles of key frame animation and the difference between Auto Key and Set Key methods.
  • Animate the train wheels and bell created in section 2 using key framing.
  • Use the dope sheet, track view and curve editor to modify animations.
  • Create parent-child relationships between objects and apply to the wheel and pistons to improve the animation.
  • Clone, move, edit and delete keys.
  • Apply different animation controllers to create particular effects.
  • Use ‘Constraints’ including constraining motion around a path and the ‘Look at’ constraint to create a realistic model train scene.
  • Use a dummy object to generate motion.
  • Animate a modifier applied to a simple set of primitives. Including: Bend, Taper, Twist.
  • Modify the timing of an animation.
