With this multidisciplinary qualification you’ll have a sound foundation for a wide range of careers. Some of these areas include working with families and young people, in community care roles and housing associations. On successful completion of this course you may well find yourself working for traditional public sector employers like the NHS, or within the rapidly expanding private and charity sectors.
Assessments
Module Specific
At each level of the BA (Hons) Social & Health Care programme you need to study six modules – three in Health and three in Social Care. Core modules are mandatory, plus you have optional modules to choose from to specialise in a particular area. At Level 3, you must select a Research Project module which will allow you to put into practice what you have learnt on the programme and provides you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills.
Number of Credits
When successfully completing a module you’ll gain 20 credits. In order to gain an Honours Degree you will need to obtain a total of 360 credits – 120 credits at each level. However, if you prefer to graduate early, you can choose from the following Intermediate Awards.
Intermediate Awards
- Ordinary Degree – 300 credits
- Diploma of Higher Education – 240 credits
- Certificate of Higher Education – 120 credits
- University Undergraduate Certificate – 40 credits
- University Undergraduate Associate Certificate – 20 credits
- Remember that whichever option you choose; you’ll receive only one final award.

Alternatively you can choose to pay an £85 deposit now and spread your payments Interest-Free over up to 35 months.
Either way, you'll benefit from substantial cost savings if you enrol on one Degree level or the full programme, rather than enrolling on one module at a time. The table below shows examples of what your monthly payments will be if you choose the Interest Free option.
