Exams

There are four assessments for this GCSE.

Unit 1: Listening
Examination –20%
Either Foundation Tier: 30 minutes (+ 5 minutes reading time)
Or Higher Tier: 40 minutes (+ 5 minutes reading time)

Unit 2: Reading
Either Foundation Tier: 30 minutes
Or Higher Tier: 50 minutes

Unit 3: Speaking
Controlled Assessment –30% (internally assessed)
Two tasks submitted for moderation

Unit 4: Writing
Controlled Assessment –30% (externally assessed)
Two tasks submitted for marking

Availability of Certification

Please be aware that for this GCSE the earliest students will be able to gain the qualification certificate will be June 2011. If you require your qualification sooner than this, please contact our ICS Course Advisers on 0800 056 3983 who will be able to assist and provide information on earlier assessments.

Examination Fee and Registration

Students will have to pay an examination fee of £21.80. This is payable to the AQA Examination Board.

Please note students are responsible for making their own exam arrangements.
