Success Stories from our Psychology Students

Sharon Osbourne from West Midlands

Eighteen years after Sharon Osbourne left school, with 9 GCSE’s under her belt, she felt it was time to consider higher education and wondered what opportunities were available to her.

“When I was at school my focus wasn’t on attending university, and I left without enough UCAS points to enrol on most courses.”

As a full-time mother of two children, and a busy job as a part-time customer services clerk, Sharon knew that she would be unable to consider a campus based university course, with several lectures to attend each week.

“ICS was the perfect solution – home learning has enabled me to study for a course I thoroughly enjoy without having to sacrifice my other commitments.”

It was after reading a enthralling psychological-based book that she felt inspired to learn something new and enrolled on the BA (Hons) Psychology course with ICS.  Sharon has been thrilled by the support and encouragement she has received throughout her studies.

“The mentors are fantastic and very encouraging.  When I called to enquire about enrolling, ICS were friendly, and very positive.”

Sharon is keen to recommend distance learning with ICS to others, and stresses that it’s not too late to learn.

“I think ICS is fantastic.  I feel that I have a great career ahead of me as a psychologist.  When I graduate my children will be approaching senior school, and I will be able to enter a full time career which I think will provide great interest.”
