Multicultural education - distance education course

Aside from learning psychology theory, you will be introduced to a number of other fascinating subjects with this home study degree.  This particular module looks at multicultural education and citizenship.  The issue of multiculturalism is a hotly-debated topic in contemporary society and this distance education course examines it in detail.

As globalisation marches on relentlessly, predictions of an end to national citizenship and a rise of multicultural education and citizenship have been made.  This distance education course examines what is meant by this and introduces you to a global dimension of citizenship.  This enhances your learning of psychology theory by invoking a new cultural context.

Global citizenship and learning psychology theory

Guest speakers will discuss their work in raising awareness of global citizenship during this distance education course.  From learning psychology theory you should be able to form arguments on the ideas of individuals concerning and contributing to global citizenship.  Multinationals and "worker-citizens" will be discussed as part of this multicultural education course.

Consensus and conflict is one of the components of this module and here you have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained whilst learning psychology theory.  Radical global citizenship focusing on anti-capitalist and new social movements will be examined on this distance learning course.  Your multicultural education looks at the ways in which different cultures are now thought to share a common citizenship.
